Have you noticed your utility costs keep rising?

Hey there, happy summer -

Let me steal about 4 minutes of your time. I am here to help you reach your financial goals and I want to point something out.

Inflation is the highest it has been in 40 years. When things are at extremes, companies have a tendency to make changes to improve their profit margins, and we have a tendency to not notice because we are distracted by those very extremes. Today, those include, high prices, abnormal temperatures, a pandemic, a shipping crisis, local and world news/affairs, etc. I want you to pay attention. If you notice, you are probably seeing updated terms and agreements, service charges, and fee schedules in your inbox and mailbox. Review those so you know how you are being impacted.

For example,

  • Has the balance requirement on your bank accounts changed to avoid service charges?

  • Have the rates for your electricity, water, gas, and other utilities increased?

  • Have you received your property tax assessment(s)? Have your real estate taxes increased?

  • Have the interest rates on your credit cards increased?

  • Have the interest rates on your savings accounts increased? If not, move your money.

  • What about your streaming services, have those rates increased?

  • Business owners, have your credit processing rates increased?

Don't ignore those notices and emails because they impact you. These are a few of the things my eBook, The Financial Detox, helps you stay on top of. Detoxers tell me all the time how much money they save by following the steps I lay out in the book, and they love it. It includes habits you want to teach your children and help first timers learn about managing their money. In fact, you know what hasn't increased in price; The 21-Day Financial Detox (*wink*).
